Re: 200fps Challenge -- Round Two

I have seen it done with carbon fiber limbs and an extremely skinny string. From what I understand their are several modern bows that have cracked the 200 mark shooting 10 grains and 28" draw. I...

Re: 200fps Challenge -- Round Two

I would like to see a design challenge where we go for max fps with 10 gpp rather than go for a set speed. This is because nobody has really posted numbers that I have seen, the post died and nobody...

Glad to see this thread resurrected. I'd love to send in bows for testing... if I had any that were worthy! I know I'm not at that level yet. Hopefully one day I'll get there. Marc, I remember that...

Re: 200fps Challenge -- Round Two

I have made a few self recurves that shot over 190 fps but I was shooting them. I tried to keep my tests as close to the standard as possible using weighed arrows (10 GPP) but my bow scale could be...

We may do it in three groups those of several pieces of wood, those that are build with horn/tendon, and those of only one piece of one wood.

Re: 200fps Challenge -- Round Two

I've got a hornbow in the tillering phase now. I would be happy to send that in for a test. It's only my third attempt at one so I don't expect it to break 200fps (not by a long shot!) but at least it...
